guildwork.com tests & feedback

Postby Aevis » Wednesday, 24.02.10 07:04

as you know from the other guildwork post, i'm in contact with stan about guildwork's progression and he's always asking for more feedback. i'll post those test requests in here and if you guys have some spare minutes, i'd very appreciate your thoughts about it. the reason why i support guildwork is, that if they manage to complete it according to their to-do list, moving to gw at least for ff14 will be a wonderful opportunity. so the more we can help out with ideas and feedback, the more it will include all the useful things we got used to (and beyond).

today he asked me to give some feedback about the screenshot section, as it is almost complete. a full description was posted on the blog:

as you can see from the features list, it works alike fb. you can upload ss into self created albums and tag users in them, which will add it to your char section. different privacy settings, ratings, comments etc. go nuts and report bugs etc., thanks.

for my part, i created a public and private ss album in TT, then uploaded one of the pw shots into public and tagged everyone who's currently in the shell on gw (russa, six, korn). for some reason, i can't tag jetta because it says "character not found". you can only tag friends atm. in the future, you'll be able to tag guild members too, without the requirement of them having to be your friends also.

if you click on a screenshot, it will open it in a popup and you have to click on of the top left corner links to get into the SS page, where you can add tags, rate etc. that split between using a ss only to view or actually use the community features for it was made on purpose. you'll have an option in your settings, where you can set the default behaviour of clicking a ss. so those who always want to get into the ss page can change it to act accordingly.

that's interesting, as it shows me in the feed as you uploaded it. however, i have the same problem with another picture. i uploaded the car into the private forum and it says in my feed, that six uploaded it.

next round. they got their crawler for ffxi/wow/aion char data finished. all chars have been deleted as you now have to enter the ls community link when you create one for ffxi. quoting stan here on the subject:

Hey sorry if this is considered a bump, but anyway we have been working on character profiles, and we would like some input.

Our system tracks all the loot it finds as well as titles, we want to know how people would like to view this data.

At the moment the loot is just displaying in reserve order.
Do you guys what to see these it by slot, by letter name starts with? Any tips would be appreciated.

As for the titles section, it tracks how many times you get a specific title, so the only thing I can think of alphabetical with ability to sort by the number of times received.

As side from that the feed is functional, whenever it finds changes in your profile it posts them to your feed, and friends see the changes in real time on their dash board =)

the speed is remarkable and i like the feed idea which shows a kind of character history. check this feed to see some action: http://www.guildwork.com/ffxi/hades/sirrobin/#/feed/

playing around with the menu atm.

only bug seems to be the default pic of stan beeing used as your char profile pic.

me likes it very much so far. btw stan told me, that once they have their crawlers finished and the profile pages are completly done, the next step will be the new dkp system. can't wait for that as that pretty much will decide if shells hop on gw or not, no matter how good all the other features are.
